Mandatory registration in the Register of Applicants for Subsidized Housing in Extremadura, as a prerequisite for accessing the specified subsidized homes, will begin on January 1, 2026. -
Purpose
Registration in the Public Register of Applicants for Subsidized Housing in Extremadura is intended to ensure the principles of equality, transparency, publicity, and open competition among individuals interested in accessing subsidized housing, either through ownership or rental, as well as to monitor the development and status of the demand for such housing.

Eligible Beneficiaries
Adults and emancipated minors (by virtue of marriage, public deed, or judicial ruling) who, individually, jointly, or as members of a household unit, intend to apply for subsidized housing.

Requirements
For registration in Section 1 (Publicly Promoted Housing)
a) Must hold Spanish nationality or legal residence in Spain.
b) All applicants must be registered (empadronados) in the municipality to which the application refers, which must be located within the Autonomous Community of Extremadura.
c) Must have weighted household income below 2 times the IPREM (Public Indicator of Multiple Effect Income).
d) Must submit a sworn declaration stating that they meet the eligibility requirements for the publicly promoted housing requested in the municipality in which they are registered.
e) Neither the applicant nor any member of their household unit may be previously registered in the Register.
For registration in Section 2 (Newly Built Subsidized Housing):
a) Must hold Spanish nationality or legal residence in Spain.
b) At least one of the applicants must be registered in the municipality to which the application refers, which must be located within the Autonomous Community of Extremadura.
c) Must not be the sole or joint owner, holding 50% or more of full ownership of any subsidized dwelling.
An exception is made for individuals who have lost use and enjoyment of the former marital home due to separation, divorce, or annulment of marriage."
d) Must have annual income equal to or greater than the IPREM, and not exceeding the income limits set forth below.

e) Must submit a sworn declaration stating that they meet the requirements to access ownership or rental of the requested subsidized housing.
f) Neither the applicant nor any member of their household unit may be previously registered in the Register.
The following individuals may not access the Register if, in the 12 months prior to submitting the application, they have incurred in:
a) Falsification, inaccuracy, or omission of essential information.
b) Failure to comply with obligations.
c) Obstruction, refusal, or resistance to verification and control procedures.

Required Documentation
Mandatory documentation. (Unless express consent is given for consultation through the databases of the relevant public administrations):
- A copy of the National Identity Document (DNI) or Foreigner Identity Number (NIE) of the applicants and all other members of their household unit, as well as of the person acting as legal representative, where applicable
- A certificate from the Land Registry and Tax Cooperation Management Center stating the urban real estate properties owned or held in usufruct by the applicants ¿and, in the case of applicants for publicly promoted housing, by all members of their household unit.
- A document accrediting the residential and cohabitation history of the applicants, and of their household unit where applicable, proving their registration in the municipality listed first in the application (in the case of applicants for publicly promoted housing). For other applicants, it will be sufficient for the document to refer solely to the applicants themselves.
- A tax certificate with a secure verification code, issued by the Spanish Tax Agency (Agencia Estatal de Administración Tributaria), corresponding to the most recent completed tax year prior to the application date. A copy of the Personal Income Tax return (IRPF) for that period will also be accepted. If the applicant was not required to submit an IRPF return, a certificate stating this must be provided by the Tax Agency
